I have been living in Charlottesville for the past couple of years. When Morgan Harrington went missing it was a huge deal for the UVA and Charlottesville community. When I heard that the police had found her body, I wanted to know where and when and hopefully someday who. I put two articles on here, one has a little background on Harrington just incase you are not familiar with what happened and the other is the newest update I could find.
I have followed this story too. Today I searched for updates, but I could not find anything of significance to your questions. From what I have read there are still no solid leads to who murdered Morgan Harrington. I was wondering if you read or saw the press conference where her mother talked about her “lovely bones”? Below is the article, I tried to attach it differently but there was a site failure.

Reading about the story that you have written about in your blog is very scary. Knowing that this young twenty-year old girl just vanished from a concert is something that I cannot wrap my head around. The world that we live in today is a very scary place and to me it seems like it is getting worse more so than it is improving. Incidences like this one should never occur especially more than once.
I’ve been following this story too since she went missing. It’s really crazy because it could’ve happened to anyone. It definitely made me stop and think about the things I do and how I should be a little more cautious.
The tragic story of Morgan Dana Harrington is definitely a story teenagers and young adults need to be aware of. This could happen to anyone, anywhere. On a college campus, we often feel safe and secure walking around at night, but we can never be so sure. In order to avoid instances like the Harrington tragedy, never isolate yourself from the group and always have a friend and cell phone with you! I was shocked when I read that Metallica had offered a $50,000 reward for anyone with information on Harrington in addition to her parent’s $100,000 reward. I was also glad to see that the news travelled all the way up to New York to remind young adults to be very careful when going out at night.
I remember hearing a lot about this when Morgan Harrington went missing. As a college student myself this story really hit home for me and a lot of my friends because this could have happened to any of us. This girl was taken from a concert she was attending on her college campus…We, as young adults, tend to think that it couldn’t happen to us, that as long as we’re careful, nothing can go wrong. But that’s not true. Until reading this blog post I didn’t even know that her remains, bones, had been found, I thought that she was still missing. This is awful….
I also found it hard to believe that another person’s life was put in danger by a Virginia campus. It makes me realize that dangerous situations can happen anywhere. I have always felt safe attending concerts but now, I will take extra precautions to stay around friends. Her parents will never fully be at peace but they now know what happened to their daughter. We can all hope that whoever killed her will be brought to justice.
Why hasn’t this been on the news? I don’t remember hearing anything about this. It really makes you think about the safety of college campuses. Even though Mason is an open campus, I feel safe walking to and from activities on campus. If I don’t I ask someone to walk with me or try to talk on the phone with someone until I reach my destination. The orientation office also does skits and provides information on how to keep ourselves safe. I hope they find her killer, or at least more information about what really happened to her.
